Acclimatization and Exploration Day at Namche Bazaar
Today is a rest and acclimatization day in the beautiful mountain town of Namche Bazaar—a crucial stop to help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. At 3,440 meters above sea level, proper acclimatization is essential to ensure a safe and enjoyable trek to higher elevations.

In the morning, we’ll take a short acclimatization hike to the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-altitude hotels in the world. From this stunning viewpoint, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, and other Himalayan giants.

After the hike, we’ll return to Namche for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you'll have time to explore this vibrant Sherpa town. Visit the Sherpa Culture Museum or the Everest Photo Gallery to learn more about local traditions and the mountaineering history of the region. You can also visit the Namche Monastery, where peaceful chants and rituals offer insight into Tibetan Buddhist practices.

Namche is also a great place to shop for last-minute trekking gear. Several outdoor stores offer rental and purchase options for items like down jackets, gloves, hiking poles, and boots. You can also relax in cozy local cafés, enjoy fresh yak cheese, or try a Sherpa stew at one of the local eateries.

After an enriching day, you'll return to your lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Trek to Phortse
After a hearty breakfast in Namche Bazaar, we begin our trek toward the peaceful village of Phortse. The journey starts along the classic Everest Base Camp trail, passing through Kenjoma, a small settlement offering scenic views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and other surrounding peaks growing ever closer.

Shortly after Kenjoma, we leave the main EBC route and join the less-traveled trail toward Gokyo Valley. The path gently ascends through rhododendron and Himalayan birch forests toward Mang, a quiet village ideal for a short rest. Keep an eye out—this region is known for occasional sightings of musk deer, Himalayan monals, and even the rare Lophophorus (Danphe), Nepal’s national bird. Yaks and mountain goats are a common sight along this tranquil stretch.

From Mang, we descend to the riverside hamlet of Phortse Thanga and cross the Dudh Koshi River. A final uphill hike of about an hour leads us to Phortse (3,810m)—a picturesque Sherpa village known for its authentic charm and fewer crowds.

Once in Phortse, you can explore the village, visit the local monastery, or interact with friendly locals and learn about their mountain lifestyle and cultural traditions—a true highlight of the Gokyo to Everest Base Camp trek. After dinner at the lodge, rest up for the next leg of your Himalayan adventure.

Trek to Machhermo

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the stunning Gokyo Valley as we journey from the peaceful village of Phortse to Machhermo. This scenic route offers breathtaking views, Sherpa culture, and the chance to spot Himalayan wildlife.

We begin with a short descent to Phortse Thanga, then start a steady climb through rhododendron and pine forests toward Dole (4,200m)—a small but picturesque settlement surrounded by towering peaks like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega. If luck is on our side, you might catch glimpses of musk deer or the colorful Himalayan monal along the trail.

After a rest in Dole, we continue trekking above the Dudh Koshi River, with a mix of gradual ascents and level paths. The alpine scenery becomes more dramatic as we pass through small hamlets like Kele. After about 5–6 hours of total trekking, we arrive at Machhermo (4,470m).

Fun Fact: Machhermo is famously known for a 1974 Yeti sighting, where a Sherpa claimed to have encountered the legendary creature. Don’t be surprised if your guide or lodge host shares fascinating tales over dinner!

You’ll check into a cozy lodge for a warm meal and a restful night at this high-altitude village.

Trek to Gokyo Valley

Today marks one of the most exciting days of your Gokyo to Everest Base Camp Trek, as you make your way toward the breathtaking Gokyo Valley—home to the legendary Gokyo Lakes.

The trail begins with a gradual ascent along the Dudh Koshi River, offering spectacular views of the high Himalayan terrain. After passing through the quiet village of Luza, where you can enjoy a short tea break, the path continues climbing steadily along the ridgeline with increasingly dramatic views.

As you approach the Gokyo Lakes region, the scenery opens up to reveal some of the most awe-inspiring sights in the Everest region. You’ll be greeted by your first glimpse of the turquoise glacial lakes, surrounded by towering peaks such as Cho Oyu (8,188m), Everest, and Lhotse. The serene beauty of the lakes, reflecting the snowy giants, creates a truly unforgettable Himalayan moment.

After soaking in the views, we continue on to Gokyo Village (4,790m)—a remote and peaceful settlement nestled beside the third and largest lake, Dudh Pokhari. While you may be tempted to explore right away, we encourage you to rest and acclimatize, as tomorrow is dedicated to discovering the full wonder of Gokyo Valley, including an optional hike to Gokyo Ri for panoramic mountain views.

Acclimatization and Exploration around Gokyo Valley and Gokyo Lakes

Start your day early with a warm breakfast at your lodge—today is one of the highlights of your trek! Spend the day exploring the stunning Gokyo Lakes up close, a series of pristine turquoise glacial lakes nestled amidst towering Himalayan peaks.

Visit the main Gokyo Lake (Dudh Pokhari), a serene and shimmering body of water framed by majestic snow-capped mountains. The peaceful ambiance here is truly soul-refreshing. For a quieter experience, explore the five other nearby lakes, including the tranquil Tanjung Tsho and Longpongo Lake, perfect for a peaceful walk away from the crowds.

If you’re up for a challenge, you can hike one of the nearby peaks, such as the popular Gokyo Ri, to enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu—some of the tallest mountains in the world.

After soaking in these spectacular sights, return to Gokyo village for a hearty lunch and a leisurely afternoon. Relax at a local teahouse with a warm cup of tea, browse the village markets, and connect with friendly locals to learn about Sherpa culture.

In the evening, don’t miss the chance to witness a breathtaking sunset over Gokyo Valley, painting the mountains and lakes with golden hues. Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and restful night, recharging for the journey ahead.

Gokyo Ri Excursion and Trek to Dragnag

Start your day early, around 5:00–6:00 AM, with a memorable hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m)—one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the Everest region. The moderate 2–3 hour climb rewards you with a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayan giants: Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse, and the shimmering Gokyo Lakes below.

From the summit, you’ll also witness the vast expanse of the Ngozumpa Glacier, Nepal’s largest glacier, stretching across the valley. This panoramic vista is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a highlight of your trek.

After descending, return to your lodge in Gokyo for a nourishing lunch before setting off toward Dragnag (4,700m). This peaceful village lies en route to the challenging Cho La Pass and offers a quiet, serene atmosphere perfect for rest. The 3–4 hour trek follows the edge of the magnificent Ngozumpa Glacier, providing unique glacial landscapes and stunning mountain views.

Upon arrival in Dragnag, enjoy a warm dinner and relax at your lodge, preparing for the next stage of your adventure.

Trek to Dzongla via Cho La Pass

Today is one of the most challenging and rewarding days of your Gokyo to Everest Base Camp trek. We begin early in the morning, as an early start is crucial to safely cross the high-altitude Cho La Pass (5,420m)—a dramatic mountain pass that connects the Gokyo Valley with the main Everest Base Camp trail.

The climb toward Cho La is steep and demanding, especially as you approach the glacier-covered section of the trail. The weather here is unpredictable and can shift quickly, making early departures essential to avoid strong winds or snowfall. Your safety is our top priority—microspikes, trekking poles, and careful footing are strongly recommended, particularly in colder months when the trail can be icy and slippery.

Once at the top, you're rewarded with jaw-dropping views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and vast glacial landscapes. Take a moment to enjoy this epic vantage point and snap some photos of the surrounding Himalayan giants.

After spending some time at the summit, we begin a careful descent through rocky terrain and snow patches, eventually arriving at the peaceful Sherpa village of Dzongla (4,830m). Here, you’ll be welcomed with warm food, cozy lodging, and the chance to connect with locals in this remote, serene setting.

Trek to Lobuche

After yesterday’s challenging crossing of the Cho La Pass, today offers a shorter and more relaxed trek—perfect for recovery. After breakfast, we begin walking along a gentle trail through the valley, surrounded by dramatic Himalayan views.

The path includes a mix of gradual ascents and descents, eventually leading us close to the edge of the mighty Khumbu Glacier—the highest glacier in the world, stretching all the way toward Everest.

In a few hours, we arrive at Lobuche, a small yet busy trekking hub filled with teahouses and trekkers making their way to Everest Base Camp. This is where we’ll rest and acclimatize in preparation for one of the most anticipated days of the journey—your trek to Everest Base Camp tomorrow.

Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp and back to Gorak Shep
Today is the pinnacle of your journey—the day you finally set foot on Everest Base Camp, one of the most iconic trekking destinations in the world.

We start early after breakfast, trekking along the rugged trail beside the Khumbu Glacier. Though the route is moderately challenging, the high altitude and uneven terrain demand a slow and steady pace, with plenty of short breaks to rest and acclimate.

After a few hours, we reach Gorak Shep (5,164m)—a remote outpost and the last settlement before Base Camp. Here, you’ll enjoy a well-earned lunch and short rest before embarking on the final stretch to Everest Base Camp (5,364m).

The trail to Base Camp is rocky and glacial, weaving along the edge of the Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, you’ll pass glacial lakes, fluttering prayer flags, and gain increasingly stunning views of the Khumbu Icefall, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Pumori.

Finally, you’ll arrive at the base of Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. Standing at the foot of this giant is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, one that symbolizes strength, determination, and the spirit of adventure. Take time to capture photos, absorb the achievement, and celebrate this monumental milestone.

After soaking in the experience, we return to Gorak Shep for a warm dinner and overnight stay, reflecting on this unforgettable day.

Trek to Kala Patthar and then to Pheriche

Today is another major highlight of your adventure. We start early—around 4:00 to 4:30 AM—to hike up to Kala Patthar, the highest point of our trek at 5,550 meters. Though the climb is steep and demanding, especially in the thin air, the reward is truly unmatched.

After about 2 hours of ascent, you’ll reach the summit just in time for sunrise over Mount Everest. This is one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Himalayas, offering a 360° view of Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks. It's a moment of pure awe—one to remember for a lifetime.

After soaking in the beauty and taking plenty of photos, we return to Gorak Shep for breakfast before beginning our descent to Pheriche.

The trail gradually winds down into wide alpine valleys and becomes easier as we lose altitude, though care is still needed on the rocky paths. The air becomes thicker and warmer, and you’ll start to feel more energized as we descend.

By the time we reach Pheriche, you’ll be able to breathe more freely and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Here, we’ll enjoy a warm dinner and a relaxing night after an unforgettable day.

Trek back to Namche Bazaar

After breakfast in Pheriche, we begin our return journey toward Namche Bazaar. Today is one of the longer trekking days, as we descend significantly in altitude.

The trail starts with a gradual descent along the Imja River valley, offering clear views of Ama Dablam and Kangtega. As we retrace our steps, take time to reflect on your incredible journey, soaking in the last close-up views of Everest and the surrounding peaks.

Along the way, we’ll cross suspension bridges, pass through pine forests, and may even spot Himalayan wildlife like musk deer or colorful pheasants. After reaching Kenjoma, the path begins to level out and leads us back into thicker air and warmer temperatures.

Upon arriving in Namche Bazaar, the vibrant atmosphere welcomes you back. You can enjoy a hot shower, explore the lively local markets, or just relax with a warm meal after the long descent.
