Fly to Lukla (2860 m) and Trek to Phakding (2610 m)

Early in the morning, we will leave the hotel for our flight.

The 30-minute flight will take us above the clouds, offering a scenic view of the mountains floating below them. After landing, we will meet with the rest of our trekking crew waiting for us at the gateway to Everest – Lukla. We will take a short break for tea or breakfast and then commence our trek.

The trails start with a slow climb. Further, we will descend through the rhododendron forests and pass through some charming Sherpa villages and get occasional views of the Kusum Kangaru (6367m), rejuvenating us before we reach Phakding – a prominent Sherpa settlement located on both sides of Dudh Koshi River (coming from Khumbu glacier / Everest itself). \

Trek from Phakding to Namche (3440 m)

With a hearty breakfast, we will start our morning early.

Following the Dudh Koshi river and some suspension bridges, we will take a short break in Tok Tok, where the cascading waterfall of Bekar bewitches us. Moving further, we will reach Monjo – an important village of the mountaineers. A charismatic view of Thamserku presents itself from this point. Moving on, we will reach Jorselle, where we will need to make an entry at the Sagarmatha National Park Checkpoint, and then a challenging staircase appears.

Completing the stairs, we will reach the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge, and from the other side, we will have a steep climb through the forest, where we can encounter Himalayan Marmots, Pheasants, Lophophorus, and other majestic wildlife. Completing the climb, when we come out of the forest, we will be welcomed by the cultural hub of the Everest Region – Namche.

Explore Namche, and an Acclimatization Walk to the Everest Viewpoint Hotel (3880 m)

Today, we will have a rest day to recuperate from the strenuous walk and adjust to the thin air and lower oxygen levels due to the altitude.

Settled in a terraced slope of a hill, Namche’s traditional houses, small cafes and restaurants, and souvenir shops can be a fascinating exploration of the renowned village. We will have a short walk, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, up the steep hill to reach the viewpoint.

From the top, it grants us incredible panoramic views of the mountains: Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516 m), Nuptse (7861 m), and Cho-oyu (8188 m) on the far right, while the stunning Ama Dablam (6812 m) and Kongde Ri (6187 m) will steal the show with their magnificence.

After a restful period, we can either retrace our steps back along the same route or descend to Khumjung village, nestled between the sacred mountain of Khumbi Yul Lha. Khumjung offers a surreal experience of witnessing locals in their daily rural life, as well as their famous monastery and Hillary School. Finishing the pleasant walk, we will return to Namche for a free evening.

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3860 m)
Our walk today will be through the side of the hill we climbed yesterday. With gradual climbing, we will walk along the broad ridge and cross the Tenjing Memorial Stupa to enjoy views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, and other peaks. Crossing a small resting point of Kenjoma, we will find ourselves at the crossroads between the Gokyo and Everest Base Camp trail. Descending to the Dudh Koshi, we will cross a bridge and resume our climb through the forested trail towards Tingboche. One of the most famous sites in the Everest region for wildlife viewing, we might encounter sights of peacocks dancing, Red Pandas crossing the trails, and even Himalayan monkeys in the trees. The presence of Tengboche monastery also makes the village significant as it is sacred to the people of the Khumbu region. Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410 m)

Waking up with the view of the mesmerizing Ama Dablam, we will finish our breakfast and commence the steep climb for the day. As we move ahead, we will slowly leave the forested trail, and the trail begins to get barer and rockier. We will cross the suspension bridge over the Imja River and then cross the 17th-century Pangboche monastery.

The climb continues through alpine scrub and glacial moraine fields as we approach Dingboche. Stone walls are seen surrounding the crops to protect them from the strong winds of the valley. Jaw-Dropping views of Ama Dablam and Island Peak adorn Dingboche, where we will rest for the night.

Acclimatization in Dingboche, Hike to Nangkartshang (5083 m)

Another altitude milestone is crossed once we reach Dingboche, so we will make our second acclimatization stop on the trek.

After breakfast, we will make an acclimatization walk towards Nangkartshang hill, which is a demanding ascent. The top is marked with stone cairns and prayer flags. The panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Lhotse, Cholatse, and the Island Peaks will leave us speechless as we rest at the top to let our bodies adjust to the lower oxygen level in the atmosphere.

After returning, we will explore the valley of Dingboche, set at the base of Ama Dablam.

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m)

After a restful night in Dingboche, the trail ascends gradually toward the high alpine zone, leaving behind the last permanent settlements on the route to Everest Base Camp. This day is both scenic and emotional, as trekkers pass through areas steeped in Himalayan history.

The trek begins with a gentle climb along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, offering panoramic views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche Peak, and the distant tip of Mount Everest. After a short break at Thukla (Dughla), the trail steepens briefly toward the Thukla Pass, a poignant site marked with memorials of climbers who lost their lives in the Everest region. This serene and wind-swept ridge invites quiet reflection as prayer flags flutter in the mountain breeze.

Continuing northward, the trail gradually levels as you walk alongside the Khumbu Glacier. After about 5-6 hours of trekking, you arrive at Lobuche (4,940 m)—a small settlement surrounded by towering peaks and rugged terrain. Though simple in infrastructure, the village offers dramatic alpine views and a growing sense of anticipation as you're now just a day away from Everest Base Camp.

Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5164 m), Everest Base Camp (5364 m) Excursion, and back to Gorakshep

Today marks the most thrilling and anticipated day of the entire Everest Base Camp trek.

Leaving Lobuche early in the morning, we begin our journey along a rugged and glacial moraine trail that leads to Gorakshep (5,164 m)—the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. The trek to Gorakshep takes around 3 hours, traversing rocky paths beside the Khumbu Glacier. The views of surrounding peaks such as Pumori, Nuptse, and Mount Everest intensify with every step, building up the excitement.

Upon arrival in Gorakshep, we’ll drop our bags, have a light meal, and prepare for the final push to Everest Base Camp. The trail to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) is challenging yet unforgettable, with ever-changing glacier landscapes, ice pinnacles, and deep crevasses. After a 2–3 hour hike, we finally stand at the foot of the world’s highest mountain—a moment filled with pride, awe, and inspiration. Surrounded by ice, rock, and the echo of past mountaineering legends, the Everest Base Camp offers breathtaking photo opportunities and a true sense of accomplishment.

After soaking in the views and energy of this legendary place, we’ll retrace our steps back to Gorakshep for a well-deserved rest under the starlit Himalayan sky.

Kalapatthar (5644 m) Excursion and Descent to Pheriche (4317 m)

A pre-dawn climb to Kalapatthar, the most famous viewpoint for a close-up, panoramic view of Mount Everest (8,848 m) and surrounding peaks begins.

The early morning start ensures you reach the summit in time for a breathtaking Himalayan sunrise, where the first golden rays illuminate the icy summits of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Pumori, creating a surreal and unforgettable scene. The hike is steep and challenging due to the thin air and rocky terrain, but reaching Kalapatthar at 5,644 meters is a rewarding experience unmatched on the trail. This is the closest and clearest view of Mount Everest you’ll get without climbing it.

After soaking in the majestic views and capturing iconic photographs, we’ll return to Gorakshep for breakfast before beginning our gradual descent to Pheriche (4,317 m)—a tranquil valley known for its vast, open landscapes and yak pastures. The trek down passes through rocky ridges and moraine trails before gently descending into greener, lower-altitude terrain, offering our bodies a welcome break from the extreme elevations.

Trek from Pheriche to Namche

After the high-altitude adventure of the past few days, today’s trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar is a rewarding descent that allows our bodies to recover while still offering spectacular Himalayan views.

We’ll retrace our steps through the Imja Khola Valley, passing traditional villages like Pangboche and Tengboche, each offering fresh perspectives of the majestic Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega peaks. Along the way, we’ll revisit the spiritual atmosphere of Tengboche Monastery, one of the most important religious centers in the Khumbu region, before continuing your descent through lush pine forests and across high suspension bridges. As we descend further, the air becomes warmer and thicker, and the greenery more vibrant—a refreshing contrast to the stark alpine terrain.

After 6 to 7 hours of scenic trekking, you’ll arrive at the vibrant hub of Namche Bazaar, where cozy teahouses, bakeries, and souvenir shops welcome you back with comfort and energy. This bustling Sherpa town is ideal for relaxation, reflection, and reconnection after days spent in the higher Himalayas.
